Her first husband was the Dauphin of France, briefly King of France, Francois II (they were married in 1558; she was already Queen of Scotland, having been crowned and anointed as an infant); he died in 1560 and she then returned to Scotland in 1561. Mary and Henry Stuart, Lord Darnley, married in 1565. Then she married--or perhaps was forced to marry--the Earl of Bothwell in 1567, the same year that Darnley was murdered.Stephanie A.
